Welcome to our humble abode!
You’ve reached HANGA Shousetsu, the one-man RAINOBE unit of Heihachi Y (a.k.a. MugenHAN). We write stories to entertain ourselves, and in turn, entertain you.
Who are we?
HANGA Shousetsu was established in 1995, and there have been many RAINOBE works created since its conception. Unfortunately, this site is currently under construction, and we have yet to post any content. Please visit back often to view our works as this site is built.
What is RAINOBE?
If you click on RAINOBE in the first paragraph (or here), you’ll be directed to the Wikipedia entry. In short, ライノベ (RAINOBE) is short for ライトノベル (RAITO NOBERU), which is an English loan word for “light novel”.
A light novel is an easy to read, dialog driven, short novella that is quite popular in Japan, and is often the source of inspiration for new manga and anime series. Some popular mainstream titles include SWORD ART ONLINE and SPICE & WOLF.
Why write RAINOBE?
Well, that’s easy. I’m not a good artist, but I’ve been writing since I was young, and have unwittingly mastered the craft of RAINOBE by happy accident. Now that I’m consciously aware of my writing style, I’ve decided to keep writing in the hopes that perhaps I can see my creations come to life in anime or manga.
In the meantime, I’m looking for some freelance artists to create some art for my RAINOBE so I can officially fall under the category. If you’re a good anime/manga artist, I welcome any of your interpretations of my characters.
Commissions are negotiable! A submission form is in the works, but for now, please send an e-mail to heihachi2011 [at] mugenhan [dot] com.
Exclusively RAINOBE?
We may be promoting the RAINOBE format at the moment, but we’re not going to just dig ourselves a small plot of land in the world of creativity. Some exciting plans are being made to write scripts that will be hopefully translated into the comic book medium.
Stay tuned!
Will a UnivGirl series/one-shot ever be made?
No, but I will continue to make fun of that failed series. Hehe. ^_^
